One day after the Georgia Supreme Court said it needed evidence of wrongdoing before suspending Court of Appeals Judge Christian Coomer, the justices approved a consent order removing him from the bench while JQC charges are pending.

The Georgia Supreme Court on Tuesday suspended Court of Appeals Judge Christian Coomer pending resolution of charges of misconduct leveled by the state Judicial Qualifications Commission.
The order issued Tuesday by the high court comes one day after justices said they'd need to see evidence of the allegations of wrongdoing. It is in response to a consent motion filed Monday between the JQC and Coomer agreeing to his suspension with pay while the charges are investigated.
