The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit revived a long-running whistleblower action accusing a now-defunct mortgage company and its president of adding illegal fees to mortgage loans to veterans.

The complaint, filed under the False Claims Act on behalf of the United States by two brokers who originated loans for veterans under a Department of Veterans Affairs program, accused Mortgage Investors Corp. (MIC) of routinely violating VA regulations by bundling prohibited fees into mortgage contracts along with permissible add-ons.
