After almost a year under a pandemic, a vaccine that can keep workers healthy and provide businesses the opportunity to operate at full capacity might seem like a boon. Instead, with almost 40% of Americans responding to a December Pew Research poll that they probably or definitely won’t get vaccinated, employers are grappling with whether to mandate vaccination among their workforce.

The question of whether employers can mandate vaccination is not the issue. The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission already cleared the way for employers to do so, as long as the employer provides reasonable accommodations.
