Ogletree Deakins Nash Smoak & Stewart and Balch & Bingham have just hired new chief  diversity and inclusion officers at a time when law firms are redoubling their efforts to recruit, retain and advance diverse lawyers, and Black lawyers in particular.

Many large firms have announced new chief D&I officer hires since October, including Wiley Rein; Winston & Strawn; Davis Wright Tremaine; Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney; and, earlier this year, Polsinelli; Littler Mendelson; and Blank Rome.
