The Georgia lawyer charged with a felony for his role in the Jan. 6 invasion of the U.S. Capitol was released from jail last month and is back practicing law in Southwest Georgia, his attorney said.

A federal judge in Washington on March 10 ordered W. McCall Calhoun Jr. of Americus freed on his personal recognizance. Judge Dabney Friedrich ordered Calhoun to stay with his sister in Macon but allowed him to leave to go to his office and courts to represent clients. He may also attend medical appointments.
