Gov. Brian Kemp filled a list of judicial openings Thursday for the Cobb Circuit—plus a couple of solicitor jobs for points south.

Cobb County State Court Division II Judge Eric Brewton will be moving up from the traffic court to Division I, which handles complex civil litigation as well as misdemeanor criminal cases. He will fill the vacancy created by the retirement of Judge David Darden. Brewton was appointed to Division II in 2010. Previously, he served as staff counsel for Travelers Insurance Co. and worked for the Marietta firm of Brock, Clay, Calhoun & Rogers.
