Atlanta Municipal Court Judge Leigh Moore DuPre has died.

“As a respected officer of the court, Judge DuPre spent the better part of her career working to keep Atlanta’s communities safe,” said Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms in a statement. “She is known for working with a number of state and federal agencies to keep drugs off our streets. As the first prosecutor for Fulton County’s then-novel Drug Court, Judge DuPre worked to break the seemingly endless cycle of incarceration and recidivism through alternative sentencing. Our thoughts are prayers are with Judge DuPre’s loved ones, as well as those whose lives were changed for the better as a result of her work.”
