A federal jury in Valdosta awarded more than $250,000 to a woman who said she slipped in a puddle of water in a Tifton Walmart and injured her hand trying to keep from falling.

The quarter-million-dollar jury verdict was bumped up $9,000 after the jury determined that Walmart had raised a “frivolous claim” in defending the case.
