We are 38 past presidents of the Atlanta Bar Association who are concerned about the recent spike in hateful rhetoric and violence directed against Jewish citizens and other minority groups. As lawyers, we stand for the Rule of Law, for tolerance towards all and inclusion of all. As noted by Justice William O. Douglas of the United States Supreme Court, “the liberties of none are safe unless the liberties of all are protected.”

We condemn in the strongest terms the pernicious and violent verbal and physical attacks against Jews, Asians, Blacks and other minority groups in our country. We are disheartened and alarmed by the lack of urgency in denouncing these escalating and offensive attacks.
