Macon attorney Joseph Roger Davis took a client's retainer fee, lied about her warrant status and skipped a scheduled court appearance on her behalf—misdeeds that have now cost him his law license.

But Davis' transgressions don't stop there, according to his disciplinary record.

According to the Supreme Court of Georgia, Davis also accepted payments, but then stopped all correspondence with his client following her arrest. But before that, he'd falsely told her warrants for her arrest didn't exist.
