Georgia Supreme Court clarified its rules "to allow any proceeding not otherwise allowed to be conducted by video conference so long as the judge and all the parties consent, and public access is ensured as required."

Georgia Supreme Court Chief Justice Harold D. Melton has already said he will be leaving at the end of June and won't be extending the Statewide Judicial Emergency he first declared in March 2020 because of the COVID-19 pandemic. On Tuesday, he made it clear that the remote court proceedings created during the pandemic can continue.
