Atlanta-based Hall Booth Smith announced Monday the firm is bringing in a new partner, Jake Evans, to “further deepen the firm’s business litigation, and public policy and regulatory practice.”

Evans resigned last week from his former law firm, Holland & Knight—where he was also a partner—and as chair of the Georgia Government Transparency & Campaign Finance Commission, effective June 30. He declined to deny or confirm rumors that he is planning a Republican challenge to Democratic U.S. Rep. Lucy McBath of the Sixth District.
