Even before the pandemic labor shop Barrett & Farahany had shifted to a cloud-based, largely paperless operation. After the COVID-19 shutdown, the firm decided to give up its Midtown offices and go almost completely remote, with lawyers and staff in multiple states working from home—or the beach.

The managing partner of employment law firm Barrett & Farahany, Amanda Farahany has spent more than 20 years representing employees in disputes with employers, counseling individuals considering new positions and analyzing employment discrimination and how courts deal with it.
When the COVID-19 pandemic hit, Farahany and her colleagues built on the firm's prior moves to go paperless and virtual to take the plunge and abandon their Peachtree Street headquarters entirely, shifting to a predominantly virtual operation.
Farahany recently took a few minutes to discuss those decisions and employment law in the age of COVID-19.

You were recently in a trial in federal court in Atlanta. Was that your first in-person trial?
