McDermott Will & Emery, new to Atlanta, is continuing to recruit from rivals, adding two King & Spalding lawyers to launch a health care practice in the city. And the firm said it’s looking for more recruits.

Since opening its Atlanta office at the start of the pandemic in April 2020, the firm has grown from seven to 21 lawyers. In the latest move, Phillip Street joined as a partner, and Craig Smith joined as counsel, with both coming from King & Spalding. With their hiring, the firm said it’s launching a health practice in Atlanta that will work alongside its dominant health care teams in other offices.
