A jury in the United States District Court, Northern District of Georgia, awarded a woman a total of $150,000 in her lawsuit against her employer over harassment and discrimination accusations. In August 2017, plaintiff Melanie Johnston, 36, began working as a receptionist for a Dalton-based car dealership, Pye Cars of Dalton Inc. Her employment with the dealership was terminated on March 22, 2018. Johnston claimed that she was terminated because she had complained about being sexually harassed on the job. She also claimed that she was owed back pay for unpaid overtime. The case is Melanie Johnston v. Pye Cars of Dalton, Inc. and Lionel F. Pye, Jr. aka "Johnny Pye", No. 4:19-cv-00126-WEJ.
