A Fulton County Superior Court jury has awarded a woman $250,000 for the injuries she suffered while riding a Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (MARTA) bus.

On Sept. 10, 2018, plaintiff Pamela Youmous, 66, was a passenger on a transit bus that was traveling on Peachtree Street, in Atlanta. The bus driver came to a sudden stop. Youmous, who was sitting at the front of the bus, was propelled forward and grabbed onto a pole with her right arm to prevent her from falling out of her seat. She claimed that she injured her neck and ribs.
