The lead defense attorney for a Commerce restaurant said he felt good after a Banks County jury awarded $150,000 in an admitted liability case involving an elderly woman who was accidentally knocked over by an employee, and whose injuries included claims that resulting brain damage had aggravated her existing dementia.  

Lawyers for the plaintiffs had asked for nearly $4.7 million at trial and turned down a certified offer to settle the case for $300,000, according to Cruser, Mitchell, Novitz, Sanchez, Gaston & Zimet partner Craig Terrett.
