The plaintiffs and defense bar may not see eye to eye on everything, but a year ago as the pandemic continued to rampage through Georgia they saw a need to pitch in to protect the judges, clerks and courthouse staff who were sick and — in some cases — dying from the COVID virus.

The result: Mask Up for Justice!, a joint effort by the Georgia Trial Lawyers Association and Georgia Defense Lawyers Association to raise money and distribute facemasks and personal protective equipment to courthouses and staffers around the state. One year later, Mask Up for Justice! has distributed 42,350 masks and PPE items in Georgia, and also sent 2,000 masks to Haiti to help protect earthquake victims struggling to rebuild their lives.
