Despite the significance of a recent federal appellate decision, the debate over the legal right to display the Confederate battle flag rages on.

On Sept. 28, in the latest lawsuit regarding the controversial symbol, a federal appeals court upheld a lower court’s ruling that the city of Alpharetta did not violate the Sons of Confederate Veterans’ constitutional rights when it prohibited the flag from being displayed at its annual parade honoring American war veterans.
