When it comes to lawyers being required to purchase professional liability insurance or at least disclose whether they have such coverage, the State Bar of Georgia has decided to stick with the status quo—meaning neither is mandated.

“I feel like the Board of Governors did its job. It’s a decision the Board of Governors needs to make,” said State Bar of Georgia president Elizabeth Fite, who herself is not taking a stance on the issue. “As far as I’m concerned, I am pleased because the Board of Governors voted their conscience, and that part is a success regardless of the outcome.”
