Applications are now being accepted by judicial circuits and appellate courts looking to secure their share of $110 million in federal funding allotted for Georgia's judicial backlog.

The Judicial Council of Georgia announced funding grant applications can now be accessed on its website for the first grant cycle. Applications are due by Nov. 30 for the 2022 funding period beginning Jan. 1 and ending Dec. 31.

'Back on Track'

The federal grant money is being provided as part of the Biden administration's $1.9 trillion American Rescue Plan Act, which provides direct economic relief aimed at "rescuing the American economy."
