A settlement agreement has been reached in a case involving lawsuits filed by 20 former male students who claimed they were sexually abused decades earlier, mostly by a teacher, while at the Darlington School in Rome.

In a joint statement released Tuesday and issued by the school and the law firms representing the alleged victims, both the school and the victims said the settlement “will provide compensation to the survivors, serve to strengthen Darlington moving forward, and help prevent anything like this from happening again.”
