A battle of motions could have larger implications for an attorney held in contempt, and for a judge who ordered him into custody without first conducting a contempt hearing.

Defense attorneys’ motions to recuse Bulloch County Superior Court Judge Michael T. Muldrew faced off against prosecutors’ motion to quash subpoenas issued for the Ogeechee Judicial Circuit judge, as well as the circuit’s district attorney and chief assistant district attorney during a hearing Friday.
