A federal jury in Atlanta awarded more than $1.4 million to a woman injured in a slip-and-fall accident at a Woodstock, Georgia, Walmart, including $200,000 for attorney fees awarded under state law allowing for an award against a party found to have raised frivolous defenses.
Plaintiff Linda Watts suffered a torn rotator cuff and dislocated shoulder when she slid on a floor mat in a puddle of liquid at a cash register and hit the floor.
