Amid concerns of high associate attrition and burnout in the legal industry, Atlanta-based law firm Arnall Golden Gregory leaders say they are monitoring young lawyers’ workload.

Managing partner Jonathan Eady said that, during the third quarter of 2021, the firm’s professional development partner met with every associate who was annualizing over 1,950 hours a year. “That was just to make sure they were doing OK and whether that level of effort was by design or just the consequence of a whole lot of work going on,” he said.
