A pair of DeKalb County attorneys has teamed with a Glynn County lawyer to file a federal discrimination lawsuit against Glynn County, after its county commissioners hired a Black man as its new police chief as the high-profile Ahmaud Arbery murder case loomed.

Attorneys Mark Begnaud and Michael J. Eshman of Eshman Begnaud in Decatur, and Brunswick attorney Jason Randall Clark claim the Glynn County Board of Commissioners engaged in racial and gender discrimination, when it allegedly overlooked their clients before hiring Jacques Battiste, a Federal Bureau of Investigations veteran.
