The longest-serving active member of the Cobb County Superior Court bench has announced her retirement after 40 years as a judge.

Judge Mary Staley Clark said Monday she will retire on May 1. She is not up for election this year, so Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp will be able to appoint a successor to serve the remainder of her term, which runs through 2024.
