What began as a 911 call for law enforcement to investigate gunfire heard in a northeast Georgia community ended with a judge being suspended by the Supreme Court of Georgia, pending the outcome of an ongoing Judicial Qualifications Commission investigation.

Habersham County Chief Magistrate Judge Gerald W. Johnson has been sidelined with pay since the October domestic dispute that allegedly involved property damage, a discharged assault rifle and a request to eliminate proof of the incident.
