Chartwell Law filed a breach-of-contract lawsuit Tuesday in Georgia Northern District Court on behalf of Houston Casualty Company as subrogee of CFA Institute. The suit, which pursues impossibility defense claims, seeks to obtain a refund of $479,895 paid to Marriott Corporation as a cancellation fee for a 2020 Global Society Leadership Conference. Counsel have not yet appeared for the defendant. The case is 1:22-cv-01336, Houston Casualty Company v. Marriott Corporation.
