Lawyers across the country have taken to social media to argue whether a woman has grounds for a civil lawsuit following her arrest under a Texas law that is inspiring similar legislation in other states.

The woman, Lizelle Herrera, had shown up at a Texas hospital seeking help but ended up spending two nights behind bars before being released on a $500,000 bond. But a day later, the district attorney who had brought a grand jury murder indictment against her dropped all charges amid national protests.
