As more allegations of inadequate training spur lawsuits against the Atlanta Police Department, a ruling handed down by the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit has tossed a complaint brought by an arrested rideshare driver.

Despite providing more than two-dozen citizen complaints filed with the Atlanta Citizen Review Board alleging similar instances of false arrest, unlawful traffic stops and failure to provide timely and adequate medical assistance by other officers, the federal appellate court determined the Lyft driver "failed to provide sufficient evidence to create a genuine issue of fact concerning the city's § 1983 liability under a failure-to-train theory."
