When a former Houston County school bus driver crashed, resulting in the death of an elementary school student, a jury found Shalita Jackson Harris guilty of reckless driving and homicide by vehicle in the first degree.
But before rendering the decision, at least two jurors independently researched potential sentences for the charges Harris faced, attorneys say, prompting a defense motion for a new trial.
