Last month, the Georgia 2022 legislative session came to a close, leaving two pieces of legislation on the table that had heavy implications for the state’s extremely lucrative entertainment business.

In recent years, the Peach State has become one of the most popular spots for film companies, with 2.1 million square feet of purpose-built stage space and 3.2 million in retrofitted stage. According to Georgia.org, the state hosted 366 film productions, including 21 feature films, 45 independent films, 222 television productions, 57 commercials and 21 music videos in fiscal year 2021.
