Lawyers practicing in Douglas County can expect to see their clients’ cases called sooner and thanks to the approval of an additional federal financial boost.

More than $236,000 in Biden administration American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funding will be rolled out on June 1 to address the Douglas Judicial Circuit’s pandemic-related case backlog. The latest round of federal relief will help secure an additional prosecutor and investigator designated to handle serious violent felony cases.
