Atlanta-based Weinberg Wheeler Hudgins Gunn & Dial won the award based on information included in its nominator essay. The firm specializes in premises liability, construction and product liability cases.

One example was a case in which Weinberg represented all 15 defendants in a lawsuit filed by the parents of stuntman John Bernecker, who died in a fall during the filming of the TV show “The Walking Dead.” His parents sued AMC, the channel producing the show, and others for negligence and wrongful death. After a jury found five defendants guilty of wrongful death and awarded $8.1 million, Weinberg represented the five defendants in their appeal to the Georgia Court of Appeals in 2021.
