The legal community has been abuzz about the recent verdict in the matter between Johnny Depp and Amber Heard in Virginia. Victim's rights advocates have criticized the outcome as unfairly punishing of victims of abuse, while others have suggested that it is a win against so-called "cancel culture."
However, while most commentators have focused on the verdict's impact on public perception of abuse allegations, the outcome has been of particular interest to those focused on professional liability risks.
