An ethics dispute nearly three years in the making will soon come to an end for Western Judicial Circuit Chief Judge Eric Norris, now that discipline for his judicial misconduct has been decided.

Four months after Georgia’s Judicial Qualifications Commission Hearing Panel recommended Norris publicly apologize to an Athens bail bondsman he’d allegedly berated in connection to a social media post, the Supreme Court of Georgia has ordered Norris to appear in open court for a public reprimand instead.
