In a competition to fill judicial vacancies created by retirement in the Cobb and Southern judicial circuits, Cobb County Magistrate Judge Sonja N. Brown faced off against attorney James K. Luttrell and Southern Circuit senior assistant district attorney Catherine Mims Smith against Valdosta attorney William Long Whitesell in the Tuesday runoff election.
