Greenspoon Marder filed a copyright infringement lawsuit Wednesday in Georgia Northern District Court on behalf of music producer Darwin Quinn and professional singer and songwriter Mitchelle’l Sium. The suit, over the ownership of the hit song, ‘Smile (Living My Best Life),’ pursues claims against Rich Broke Entertainment and stand-up comedian and rapper Roland Powell a/k/a ‘Lil Duval.’ The suit seeks a declaration that plaintiffs are joint owners of the song and are entitled to co-writer credits and prospective and retroactive royalties. Counsel have not yet appeared for the defendants. The case is 1:22-cv-02404, Quinn et al v. Powell et al.
