M&A partners at Alston and King & Spalding said they remain busy and they are optimistic about their firm's growth in M&A work, despite headwinds in the economy this year.

Alston & Bird and King & Spalding were the only Atlanta-based Am Law 100 firms to appear in a M&A deal adviser rankings for the first half of 2022.
Refinitiv's global law firm league tables, released this week, highlight the longtime trend of most big-ticket M&A work heading to New York and Chicago-founded firms as well as large international firms, while other firms handle mid-market deals. Few Southeast firms have cracked into the rankings. For instance, Atlanta-based Am Law 100 firms Troutman Pepper and Kilpatrick Townsend & Stockton did not appear in Refinitiv rankings.

The action, filed Oct. 7 in New York Southern District Court by the Brown Law Firm, accuses the company's directors and/or officers of falsely expressing confidence in the company’s restructuring of its sales incentive plan and downplaying the severity of decreases in its upfront commitments.
