Abortion beyond six weeks of pregnancy is now banned in Georgia, based on a decision Wednesday afternoon from the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit.

Chief Judge William Pryor Jr. ruled in favor of Georgia’s Republican Gov. Brian Kemp and Attorney General Carr supporting not only the abortion ban but the provision of the law that endows embryos with the legal status of “personhood.”
