On the same day a Gwinnett County jury awarded $30 million for a mother and baby in a medical-malpractice lawsuit, another jury was deliberating a similar case in DeKalb County. The DeKalb jury awarded no damages, instead reaching a verdict fully in favor of the defense on July 22.

The winning lead counsel in the DeKalb case was Paul Weathington of the Weathington Firm. He tried the case with Seleta Griffin of the Weathington Firm.
