In a consolidated wrongful death lawsuit, the Georgia Court of Appeals reversed a summary judgment ruling, siding with the hosts of a party during which a child died after swimming in their pool unsupervised.

According to the opinion, Tahir and Shannon Whitehead hosted a pool party haround Independence Day in 2017, which Rolinda and Bernard Bond attended with their 4-year-old granddaughter, Tamira. During the gathering, Rolinda asked a relative of the Whiteheads, Jaida Davis, to watch their granddaughter in the pool, the opinion noted.
