While demand slips for many law firms nationwide, labor and employment has remained a practice in high demand as law firms angle for top talent.

Labor and employment was among the “most robust areas” of the third quarter as transactional demand fell, according to the latest Thomson Reuters’ Law Firm Financial Index. That report noted that every practice area had declining demand in the third quarter, except labor and employment, which saw a 0.4% gain.
