King & Spalding has added Amelia Medina, a former FBI and Justice Department official, as a partner in the firm’s Washington, D.C., office on Thursday, bolstering the firm’s special matters and government investigation practice.

Medina, who joined the firm on Dec. 1, was deputy chief of staff at the FBI. King & Spalding noted that Medina, who started her career as an associate in King & Spalding’s Atlanta office, became one of FBI Director Chris Wray’s closest aides and most trusted advisers. Wray himself is a King & Spalding alum.
