As legal market demand slows across the U.S., and law firms are hiring fewer associates, Southeast and Atlanta law firms may find they have less competition for local talent now.

In the boom period of 2021, New York and West Coast law firms couldn’t find enough associates and often hired remote attorneys, including those based around Atlanta and generally in the Southeast region. That meant local law firms were competing with large law firms across the country.
