Atlanta public interest lawyer Tom Jurgens was charged with a group of protestors at the intended site for the proposed Atlanta Public Safety Training Center in Weelaunee Forest in southwest DeKalb County.

The protestors were a part of the Defend Atlanta Forest (also known as “Stop Cop City”) movement that had scheduled a music festival to be held on the first weekend of March. That weekend, the police say they were attacked by dozens of people in black masks. The Monday after the incident, more than 20 people from around the country faced domestic terrorism charges, Jurgens among them.
