A Georgia Bar member since 1970, Judge Arrington was first elected to the council, then known as the Board of Aldermen, in 1969. He became council president in 1980. In 1989, he joined civil rights attorney Donald L. Hollowell in the formation of the Arrington and Hollowell law firm. He was appointed as a Fulton County Superior Court judge in 2002 by then-Gov. Roy Barnes and retired from the bench in 2012.
