With a first-of-its-kind program, the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs has awarded $11.5 million in legal services grants for veterans at risk of homelessness with three law schools receiving $150,000 grants each.

Syracuse University College of Law, Emory University School of Law and Cornell Law School are three of the 79 grant recipients under the new VA’s Legal Services for Veterans Grant Program, according to VA’s data.
