Jay Sadd and Dan Epstein of Slappey & Sadd recently secured a $6.5 million medical-malpractice verdict out of northwest Georgia against a defense team composed of Robert Monyak and Stephanie Vari of Peters & Monyak. The Daily Tribune News in Cartersville reported this to be the largest verdict ever from the Superior Court of Bartow County, and Sadd said this is his sixth multimillion-dollar medical-malpractice verdict in the past 14 months.

Since the verdict was rendered, plaintiffs also filed a motion asking the court to award $3 million in prejudgment interest, based on an offer of settlement the defendants rejected in 2020.
